Oliver And Company is a game based on the popular Disney movie "Oliver and Company" and incorporates the most interesting and colorful scenes. It's a classic, action platform with nice visuals and hybrid gameplay. The game was released in 1989 by Coktel Vision for the Commodore Amiga, Atari ST and PC (DOS) home systems.
 
Review
Oliver and CompanySTORY / GAMEPLAY
The story is centered on Oliver, a male kitten lost in the vast New York city. Being on his own, Oliver has to learn the rough life of the streets, deal with stray dogs and deal with other dangerous stuff. Oliver, along with Dodger, a charismatic dog from the neighborhood, goes through a couple of challenges in order to save the life of a little girl, named Jenny. The game contains four different stages. The first stage is a classic horizontal-scrolling arcade adventure in which Oliver (alone) must find food and avoid living obstacles like pedestrians, skaters or angry hotdog sellers. The second stage is played on a single screen in which Oliver has to catch some bones thrown inside the room. At the third stage, Oliver has to take care that his friends won’t make a mess at Jenny's home. In the last level, Jenny is now kidnapped and the young cat must find her with the help of his friends, roaming inside a maze.
The gameplay is overall fun, keeping the player's interest high due to its unique gameplay in each stage. But still, the game seems too easy to play and thus, really short to complete.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
The graphics on the DOS version are neat and run with in VGA (16 colors only!), in CGA (4 colors) or Hercules (2 colors, high resolution) mode. The sprites move a bit awkward and the VGA looks identical to the Amiga and Atari ST versions.
The sound on the DOS is cool, especially when a Disney compatible sound hardware is used, featuring an introductory sampled tune, a few sampled sound effects but unfortunately no in-game music.
